In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

  1. Why are cracked and broken letters appropriate for the horror genre? When you mention production title you actually put a certification screen from the USA slide. If that's what you mean I don't think it's a good example of your use of conventions and I think you should replace it with another one. Good point about the vulnerability of the female in slide seven but you could develop it further by talking about the Z axis and the use of backgrounds as well as the low-key high contrast lighting which is also a convention of much horror.

Overall although I like the way you have presented this I don't think you have really explored horror conventions fully. I think you should look at expressive camerawork such as canted and other extreme angles and ECUs. Then I think you should look at setting and explore how the setting often involves something returning from the past. And then I think you should also when you're discussing the vulnerability of women explore something about the notion of the final girl in and the way that this is an unusual representation. Finally I think some more about the conventions of trailers themselves would be useful. I actually think there's a fair bit of work to do on this if you want to do your trailer justice.
